Kareena,Preity friends

Date: 23 Jul 2007 | Author: Baano | Views: 17 At the recent Cannes film festival, Preity Zinta attended to promote her forthcoming movie :Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. She was asked to comment on "Omkara", the other bollywood movie that featured prominently at the festival. The topic soon moved to her nemesis : Kareena Kapoor. She said " Kareena Kapoor is the most interesting actress in indian cinema at the moment. Her varied roles had her perform as different kinds of women, making her relate to different lives of women, both good and bad. She could not relate to all of the characters, yet she performed them. She has a naturalistic approach to her performance and i have become a fan of hers". She continues" I have seen her as an extension of myself onscreen. If someone were to make a movie about me, i think i will insist on Kareena playing me, as we are similar as indiviuals. I watched "36 China Town" recently and somehow i saw myself in her. i would loved to have performed "24 x7" and i think we have a similar style in portraying glamorous roles.I think we somehow have mirrored each other onscreen". Discussing her tiff with Kareena: "Our tiff was caused by nothing but insecurity. I was on a high after "Kal ho na ho" and "Koi mil gaya". The "Chameli" released and Kareena took away my spotlight. I reacted childishly and commented about her character. We are friends again, i really hope to work with her soon." Then on the movie "Omkara".: "Vishal is an intellegent director and i'm sure he will do an excellent job. I hope this movie works for Saif and Kareena. I am concerned that the genre may cause it to do average business at the box office, however i am sure that the actors will do an excellent job".
